*St. Hedwig:* _The Spirituality of Service, Humility, and Charity_
St. Hedwig of Silesia (1174–1243) was a duchess known for her deep faith, humility, and dedication to charity and peace. Born into a noble family, she married Duke Henry I of Silesia and had seven children, although several died young. Despite her wealth, Hedwig lived simply, frequently fasting and wearing humble clothing. After her husband’s death, she entered the Cistercian monastery at Trzebnica, dedicating the rest of her life to prayer and service to the poor.
