It is holiday, youths especially those who are still students are having ample time at home. Marafa Deanery has chosen to embark on a life changing journey with the youths in the deanery. so, the just started youth seminar in Marafa Deanery at Kaembeni is a significant event that underscores the importance of our youths in shaping their future, that of the Church in the deanery and the community.


It's a gathering of ninety-seven (97) youths from five parishes: Shakadulo, Marafa, Gongoni, Adu, and Magarini mission, all of whom play a crucial role in the success of this seminar.
Accompanying them are Fr. Peter (The Chaplain), Fr. Dennis, Fr. Francis Muchiri (the new vocations Director), Rev Deacon Edwin, Seminarian Mwamba, Sr. Annastacia, Sr. Hellen, and Sr. Reama.

Fr. Dennis, a key member of the seminar team, shared that the first topic, 'Stress Management,' was chosen to address a pressing issue affecting our youth. The seminar aims to bring about a positive change in their lives, spiritually, mentally, and physically, instilling hope for a brighter future.
Deacon Edwin, who is the facilitator of the discussion, has said, "When we die spiritually, then we eventually die physically."

Subsequent topics will include a discussion on LGBTQ to help the youths get an understanding of the situation in emerging irresponsible sexual behaviour.
Fr Denis mentioned that tomorrow, December 20th, 2024, is allocated for sporting activities such as football, volleyball, and athletics, in preparation for Diocesan activities.
The youths will officially receive the news about the upcoming youth annual mass with the Bishop, which will kickstart next year in April in Mpeketoni.
The vocations Director is also fishing to get aspirants to join priesthood or religious life from the diocese.
