THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF
MARIANIST TECHNICAL INSTITUTE – MALINDI

Today marks the official opening of the Marianist Technical Institute – Malindi. In which the foundation was laid on 26th July 2023, by His Lordship Willybard Lagho, The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Malindi. Today’s event was graced by His Excellency Archbishop Hubertus Van Megen, Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya, who officially opened the Institute at Kibokoni. 
In addition to these distinguished religious leaders, the ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Kilifi County, Florence Chibule, who was accompanied by some members of the County Assembly of Kilifi.

The Deputy Governor, Madam Florence Chibule, promised to stand with the institution in sponsoring students with books for a library with the help of the Governor of Kilifi county Gideon Mung’aro. She also stated that the school needs a nice road that heads directly from the main road to the school and also the need for solar panels to cover for the frequent blackouts in the Kibokoni area.

She praised the opening of the institute and also recognized that the institute will unlock a world of possibilities for the young people and a prosperous future for the community.
 
The Bishop of Malindi Catholic Diocese, His Lordship Willybard Lagho, encouraged the students of the institute to work hard in their areas of expertise for a better future by exploring all the possibilities to solve minor problems.
 
The opening of the Marianist Technical Institute represents a major step in providing quality technical education and vocational training to the youth in the coastal region. This initiative is expected to enhance local skills development and employment opportunities to the youth.
