The official name on the façade

Over fish and beer on the beach, we blessed our companion Fr. Peter Linus Omondi as he concluded his “Residing Elsewhere” here. Meanwhile, our outstation in Msoloni is gearing up for its big day in April.
The old church
Sister Mary has been assigned to get things started, and we can already see some changes. Groups have been established, including a “choir,” and new trees have been planted. The chapel has undergone an ultimate touch up. Now, on the upper part of the façade, you can see “KANISA LA MT. FRANSISKO WA ASSIZI. MSOLONI” painted in bold black.
Yes, we keep the name given by the Capuchins who were in charge of this outstation, before it was handed over to our St. Charles Lwanga Parish in Muyeye. The very last addition was the fences. With this, the only access now is through the main gate. [It was, however, a bit late. Our six mango trees were showing their glory with ripe fruits, but overnight, they were all gone. While our minds can say, “Let it go,” deep down we keep asking, “Ee maembe, yako wapi? O mangoes, where are you?”]
