Each Year, the second of November, marks a very important day in the lives of all Christians in the whole world. This is the ALL SOULS DAY. This day is dedicated to remembering all our loved ones who have left us that they may find their union with Jesus Christ.
It is important for family members to visit the cemeteries, pray for the deceased and put flowers on the graves of the departed family members. This can be done on this date and even in the whole of November.
We pray for all the faithful departed especially the souls in purgatory on this day, with hopes that all the souls in purgatory will one day be able to join the saints.
This a time of beautiful reflection of what this means to us and what this world means to us and what the next means to us as well. We commemorate this day because as Christians we definitely know that there is a life after death.
On the second of November, 2024, The Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism in the Catholic Diocese of Malindi, together with the youth from Cathedral deanery (Cathedral, Muyeye and Kisumu Ndogo), visited the Mtangani Cemetery and offered Prayers for the departed souls in commemoration of ALL SOULS DAY.
